Mononoke Hime is an epic fantasy fictional biography of Miyazaki Hayao made by Ghibli in 1997. "Mononoke" is not a name, it is a generic term in Japanese for ghosts or monsters. This can be understood as "soul resentment." It premiered in Japan on July 12, 1997, and in the United States on October 29, 1999.
The film is set in jungle and mysterious forests interwoven with miraculous elements at the end of the Muromachi period (1392 - 1572), where guns gradually replaced the sword.
